Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a Technical Safety Engineer to join our team in Perth, Western Australia as part of its Operations APAC (West) business. T his is a long-term opportunity to join our expanding Oil and Gas Operations team, due to the recently securing several projects with existing long-term clients, in addition to a new and significant brownfields engineering opportunity with a major player in the LNG industry. Wood delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Oil & Gas Industry. Wood enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent Oil & Gas and LNG producers with operations in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Reporting directly to the Lead Technical Safety Engineer and working across FEED / Execution, your focus will be on performing formal safety assessment studies, support for risk-based decision-making, application of safety in design principles to the design/modification of petroleum production/processing facilities and compliance with safety regulations. Skills / Qualifications Suitably qualified with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from a recognised institution, ideally you will have relevant experience in safety engineering for petroleum production / processing facilities within Australia and preferably on brownfields projects. You must be an Australian citizen OR hold Permanent Residency (PR) OR be able to work lawfully in Australia to be considered for this opportunity. In addition, you will have: Experience in formal safety assessment studies, risk-based decision-making and the design/specification of safety critical equipment and systems Knowledge of safety regulations and applicable industry codes / standards Excellent standard of written and oral communication Strong analytical and numerical skills Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment A "solutions mindset" and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities What will set you apart will be your relevant experience within the Brownfields Oil & Gas Industry.
