Responsibilities This is the fully qualified level job. Performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results. Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment. Confers with supervisor on unusual matters. Has direct oversight of processes or projects. Support the design, prototype build, and test of ruggedized electronics for use in Weatherford's MLWD and RSS downhole drilling systems. Assemble, monitor, and document existing and new design qualification tests for temperature, vibration, and pressure testing with support of Electrical Engineer. Collaborate with other engineering staff to meet assigned project goals. Interface closely with drafting team to create part numbers, BOM management, and evaluate components for development of PCB layouts and documentation in Windchill Create and maintain relevant design documents (work instructions, test procedures, theories of operation, etc). Assist Manufacturing with the transition of prototype designs to production. Provide troubleshooting support and root cause analysis investigation and documentation. Assemble and solder required electrical components and wire harnesses. Place orders and manage inventory of electrical components and equipment required to set-up tests and build PCB's. Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford. Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment. Qualifications Minimum 3-4+ years related experience and Technical Certificate. Familiar with handling and assembly of electrical/electronics, PCB's, Multi-meters (DVM), and computer-based products with understanding of electrical circuit theory. Expertise in the assembly of complex and delicate electronic assemblies. Experience with prototype fabrication, assembly, testing and reporting. Able to use common electronics bench equipment and soldering techniques to assemble and test electronic sub-assemblies and/or test equipment. Working knowledge of basic inspection equipment and able to inspect electronic components and assemblies. Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Able to read, review, and create good quality written reports in English, including digital photographs, illustrations, spreadsheets, and recorded/charted data from tests performed. Understands how to work safely within a variety of potentially dangerous areas. Ability to communicate and work well with others in a multi-disciplined environment. Highly self-motivated and focused independent/team worker Good analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills
