Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is seeking a Project Quality Coordinator for upcoming large-scale construction projects in Port Hope area (Ontario).
The successful candidate will be capable of performing, training and managing the following main job duties:
Key Responsibilities:
 

Provides support to the project team in the successful implementation of quality strategies, plans, objectives, and deliverables
Supports the continued communication, development, and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS)
Supports planned assurance activities through planning, execution, and reporting phases. This may include external assurance (e.g., suppliers and subcontractors)
Supports the quality team (and others) in the production and review of quality deliverables in support of overall project or program implementation
Oversees the document control and management of project documentation and records
Mentorships and training of the document control processes across team and subcontractor network
Responsible for tracking and following up with discipline leads on the quality action log items
Coordinates documents and deliverables with the discipline leads
Works with the quality team to ensure outstanding results from surveillances/ audits are addressed
Validates inspection requirements and carries out inspection activities at worksites, suppliers, and/or on receipt at warehouse as instructed by the project Quality team.
Inspections of materials and reviews of material certification prior to delivery to fabricators/manufacturers where required
Witnesses / reviews of testing activities in compliance with Inspection and test plan requirements
Verifications that appropriate approvals are in place prior to commencement of specific works (e.g. weld procedures are approved, welder certification, etc.)
Generation of inspection and progress reports as required.
Report any inspection deficiencies and queries to project team
Provides support to as-building processes and handover for completions.
Assists with incident investigations, reviewing incident reports and ensuring that any relevant correct/preventive actions are implemented;
Reviews project records for completion before saving on the project drive
Coordinates and works with the Operations Team and subcontractors field inspections and testing
Coordinates with the Client hold points inspections as identified in the Inspection and Test Plan
Keeps track and ensures calibration records are received for equipment used for measuring and testing activities

 
Skills / Qualifications

 
 

College Diploma coupled with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in Quality Control in construction (civil, environmental projects)
ISO 9001:2015 Knowledge will be a plus
Demonstrated knowledge and ability in the application of quality assurance and procurement principles
Experience in the construction industry
Strong Microsoft Applications experience, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Strong communication and writing skills
Strong organizational skills, judgment, time management and flexibility
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
Must be able to obtain Reliability Status Clearance, which requires an applicant to have lived in Canada for the past three years - Additional security clearances will include, criminal record check, police check and credit check.
