ROTATING EQUIPMENT ENGINEER
Job Objective
The Rotating Equipment Engineer provides mechanical maintenance support to offshore in accordance with the client procedures and is responsible for advising improvements of maintenance strategies, maintenance execution in order to achieve maximum reliability and to optimized costs and identification of improvements to improve safety and/or efficiency, reduce downtime and improve costs.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Acts as mechanical technical focal point onshore for rotating equipment.
Provides support to offshore installations for all mechanical maintenance requirements relating to rotating equipment.
Makes cost effective and safety decisions/investigations with regard to the repair, maintenance and modifications of all installation equipment.
Reviews planned maintenance routines to ensure equipment is maintained correctly whilst making most effective use of work force.
Prepares/reviews engineering work packs and close out reports developed externally for technical content.
Determines spare part requirements for items of equipment.
Co-ordinates lube oil/grease supply for all installation equipment.
Prepares material/service requisitions, offshore visit request forms and requests for modifications.
Responsible for proposing, creating and reviewing planned maintenance amendments for existing, new and deleted equipment.
Reviews failures and downtime and provides advice to improve asset maintainability and operability. Reviewing current Condition based maintenance (CBM) activities and recommends improvements
Responsible for creating and reviewing planned and non-planned (corrective) maintenance (PM/non-PM) amendments for offshore equipment for core maintenance teams including: work scope, resources, materials, tools, drawings and documentation.
Liaises with vendors when required for offshore support. Review vendor reports and advise on trends, follow-up work and improvements.
Participates in and provides functional input to FMECA and RCM studies.
Working in accordance with agreed performance standards/targets/goals.
Actively contributing towards continuous improvement initiatives.
Conducts regular offshore visits
Where required responsibilities will also include non-rotating systems
Assists the onshore emergency organization when required.
Qualifications
BEng or HND/HNC in Relevant Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Preferably Chartered / Incorporated Engineer
Oil & Gas UK Medical certificate
Combined Survival/Fire-fighting/HUET
Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
Experience
Extensive experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer in an operational environment, preferably working as a technical authority (TA), preferably in North Sea Oil & Gas operations
Rotating Equipment maintenance experience including but not limited to:
Reciprocating Compressors
Centrifugal Compressors
Gas Turbines
Pumps - Centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, gear pumps, screw pumps, diaphragm pumps
Extensive experience of CBM strategies and technology associated with rotating equipment
Direct experience of Maximo
Experience of PMO
RCA, RCM, FMEA
