Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer in order to grow its Perth Mining & Mineral group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects. Wood is at the forefront of engineering solutions for a net zero future. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects. Working in our newly fitted offices in the Perth CBD, we have an onsite gym with five-star end of trip facilities. Key responsibility will include: Instrument and controls system design responsibility Definition of plant overall controls architecture Ownership of I&C schedule and planning Responsible for production and/or review of deliverables including models, drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, evaluations etc Assurance of tender and supply for all I&C equipment Participate and input to SIL assessment and workshops Review and where required approval of work by others Management and leadership of a small team Working closely with the design team to achieve successful model review outcomes Liaise with other disciplines, clients and vendor representatives Skills / Qualifications What will set you apart from other applicants will be your previous experience in an engineering company or consultancy, having worked on major resources projects, with mining experiences highly desirable. You will also have: Degree in electrical engineering with at least 8 years engineering and design knowledge Knowledge in the following areas Plant PCS architecture Automation configuration Industrial communications Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership Functional Safety awareness (TUV certification a plus) Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical experts A positive and pro-active attitude Please note, only applicants holding valid working rights in Australia will be considered.
