Responsibilities This is the entry job level. Under direct supervision assists with the monitors, tests and inspects all processes involved in the production of a product and product itself. Ensure the quality standards are met by every component of the product or service provided by a company. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order) Performs material testing and examination operations using metallurgical testing equipment for tensile testing, hardness testing (macro- and micro-hardness), and metallography. Prepares metallurgical specimens for testing and conducts testing of specimens. Conducts testing and evaluation of new suppliers as requested by QA Manager or Eng. Maintains testing databases and prepare summary reports when needed. Conducts product quality control inspection. Communicates with outside vendors, documentation and/or process improvements required. Analyzes and documents product test results. Prepares technical material test reports. Organizes and files test results for future reference. Conducts metallurgical evaluations of customer property which have failed in service. Produces written report to summarize metallurgical evaluations and product inspection. Performs other related duties such as weld sample preparation for subsequent metallurgical analysis. Provide inspection support for quality plans, incoming, in-process and finished products. Elastomer testing of all incoming material to confirm it meets all specifications. Grit analysis to confirm whether it meets all specifications. Adhesive testing to all incoming material to confirm it meets all specifications. Compatibility Testing and Immersion of elastomer samples to confirm that it meets all specifications. X-ray analysis of stator centralization. Performs other related duties assigned by Quality Manager. Qualifications Previous laboratory experience is desirable, as is knowledge of metallurgical products and properties preferred. Must be aware of hazardous materials and the proper handling of these materials. Good communication skills in verbal and written English. Leadership and organizational skills. Grade 12 - graduation or GED equivalency Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology related to Materials preferred Rotating Shift Available(6 AM to 2 PM and 2 PM to 10 PM rotating every 15 days)
