Responsibilities Job Purpose The role of the Manufacturing Sourcing Engineer is to support all phases of suppliers' technical development to ensure products are supplied on time and according to specification, quality standard, and at globally competitive costs. Roles & Responsibilities SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company's Security, Compliance & HSE policies, Management System, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices and complies with the Company's Rules to Live By Places Quality, Health & Safety, Security and protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers or the communities in which we live and work at risk Seeks continual improvement in Health, Safety, Security & protection of the Environment, taking into account responsible care, process vulnerabilities, public, customer and employee inputs, knowledge and technology and best business practices to exceed customer expectations QUALITY Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherfords Management System Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement OPERATIONS Responsible for improving Rod Lift product designs to reduce cost and lead times; design for manufacturability Determines the equipment, supplies and processed needed to manufacture Rod Lift Components Proposes new technologies to manufacture for Rod Lift components in order to reduce cost and/or lead times and follow through to implement the changes Collaborates with the sourcing area, in the exploration and identification of suppliers according to the required technical capabilities Responsible for evaluating suppliers according to the Weatherford technical requirements Provides technical support to suppliers to develop new processes or for when a design change requires adjustments to the existing processes Provides local technical support to assess suppliers' performance on quality, costs, delivery, and service Reviews supplier's processes and works to identify improvement opportunities in the process as well as systems at the supplier locations to improve quality, cost, and flow of supplied materials throughout the entire supply chain Acts as a technical interface between suppliers and Weatherford Responsible for identifying and eliminating waste and/or variability in the Rod Lift supply chain Supports the Rod Lift fulfilment team with elaboration of drawings, material specifications, work instructions, layouts, technical reports, etc. COMMUNICATION Builds strong and positive relationships with Manufacturing / supply chain organisation at various levels Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external FINANCIAL All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they oversee a function budget or simply their own expenses Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance & business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills, and experience Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives, and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential Qualifications Experience & Education REQUIRED Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, or related field. 3 to 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Bilingual (Spanish & English). PREFERRED Oil and Gas industry knowledge/working history Related experience in machining processes , welding, coatings surface, heat treatments, materials* Proficiency in JDE Experience in dealing with suppliers* Project Management
