Responsibilities The Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Manager is responsible for the implementation of the QHSE management system across all Weatherford Business Units, Product Lines, manufacturing, engineering, and product development groups within the geographical area. The QHSE Manager is the senior-most QHSE appointment working within the relevant area, with all other Weatherford QHSE personnel reporting to this person, either directly or functionally. Duties & Responsibilities SAFETY & COMPLIANCE Maintains safety and service quality as first priorities when working across all areas of the business Where required in the case of non-conformance, exercises 'Stop Work Authority' to suspend operations Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with company policies, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices in the applicable country Must understand and comply with all QHSE rules and company policies of Weatherford. OPERATIONAL CAPABILTY Promotes and facilitates Operational Excellence and Performance System (OEPS) in the business and operations throughout the geographical area. Support the investigation of all incidents and near misses and ensures they are entered into Weatherford Performance Tracking System (WPTS) correctly. Responsible for the overall data quality of Weatherford Performance Tracking System (WPTS). Audits to ensure that the QHSE management system is uniformly implemented throughout the area. Implements and ensures compliance of incident-prevention, risk management systems and programs for incorporation into common operational policies of the organization. Ensures timely investigations of QHSE incidents, reporting and follow-up. Engages with key stakeholders to ensure the appropriate expertise is involved in the investigation of all incidents Continuously monitors for negative trends within QHSE statistical data and reports these to the relevant stakeholders as required Reviews Client bids/tenders and provide appropriate input pertaining to QHSE requirements. Ensures common QHSE training standards are implemented throughout the area (i.e. QHSE specific training, management system training, individual safety certification training). Ensures common work standards / policies are complied with throughout the area (i.e. working at heights, electrical safety standards, blood borne pathogens, H2S standards, etc.) Consolidates, evaluates, and processes the QHSE statistical information in an accurate and timely fashion from all Weatherford entities within the area for rollup into the Corporate QHSE Department. Ensures that all incident reporting protocols are followed by all Weatherford entities within the area. Supports Root Cause Analysis Investigations with functional expertise, in conjunction with the applicable operations manager. CLIENT COMMUNICATION Represents Weatherford as the visible representative of QHSE within the area. Coordinates with Corporate Risk Management, Corporate QHSE, and Human Resources Departments Interacts with both internal and external customers with regards to QHSE on behalf of Weatherford Communicates with area management and area product line management to ensure that all understand their roles and responsibilities with regards to QHSE. Meets with regulatory agencies that govern our operations when the need arises. Meets with customer QHSE and operations representatives to ensure alignment with key customer requirements FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE Identifies and appraises acts, behaviours and conditions which could produce incidents and financial losses and evaluates potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT Directs area QHSE staff and provides QHSE oversight for all area-based product lines. Identifies resources needed to effectively deliver and maintain the QHSE compliance training in the area to all Weatherford employees. In collaboration with HR: recruits, hires, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers and disciplinary action within the area QHSE group. VISION & LEADERSHIP Manages and coaches personnel through visible leadership of the performance management, supports the talent review processes and succession planning tools Qualifications Experience & Education REQUIRED High School diploma or equivalent Experience with managing a Certificate of Recognition Program (COR) Workers Compensation Board Knowledge Understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance 5 years' experience in implementing and/or maintaining a QHSE management system 8-10 years of QHSE related experience including, Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) and oil & gas operational experience Root Cause Analysis Incident Investigation Training PREFFERED QHSE related degree/certification from accredited college. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities REQUIRED Working knowledge of QHSE Management Systems Excellent leadership & interpersonal skills Excellent teamwork and communication (verbal & written) skills Good organizational and time management skills and be able to respond to urgent situations The ability to effectively assess personnel and formulate career progression - succession planning PREFFERED Previous management and / or supervision experience Leadership training
