Role Summary
The Sr. Technical Consultant has a primary objective of business retention with profitable business expansion as the secondary goal. This person must be a good problem solver and be able to assess a customer situation from both a sales and technical point of view, develop improvement plans and then influence the sales team to ensure the objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
 

Provide technical support for the commercial sales team in water treatment and / or process technology
Continuous technical knowledge improvement
Understanding of our waterside chemical, equipment, and service offerings
Understand individual customer concerns, develop corrective action plans and communicate to the commercial team
Gather industry intelligence and market trends to better shape corrective actions or new business development
Direct customer management through clear communication internally and externally
Document competitors' activities and assess potential market moves.
Make technical presentations to all levels of customer organization.
Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules and cost estimates to facilitate total scope project offerings
Contribute positively to Geo sales and profitability goals
Be a leader who finds potential improvement opportunities and develops solutions.
Be a coach and mentor for the field sales team
Any job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Core Qualifications
 

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical) or a relevant Technical degree (Biology, Chemistry) from an accredited university or college
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Minimum 10 years in industrial water treatment sales and service.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
 
 
 

Ability and willingness to travel within territory, as required
Ability and willingness to reside in assigned region, or within customer proximity requirements, as required
Work frequently in a heavy industrial environment requiring use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and other similar irritants typical of those found in refinery, chemical plants, power plants, etc., as required
Ability and willingness to comply with stringent drug testing and background check requirements set by customer safety requirements, as required
Basic Computer Skills including MS Office, and other software programs within a Windows environment
