Based in Minnetonka, MN but having a global reach, the Minnetonka Logistics Projects and Initiatives Leader will be responsible for the improvement of transportation, distribution, and international trade compliance for the plant and within the region. There will be 3 areas of focus: Operational Execution & Metrics, Cost Management, and Process Improvements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS• Own/drive detailed analysis and reporting of logistics costs partnering with Supply Chain Finance team members. Proactively communicate gaps, trends, and recommended actions.• Develop and maintain funnel of logistics improvement projects to meet cost out targets and improve operations.• Execute on projects to meet business needs, including cost out projects and process improvements.• Partner closely with Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Staff to develop routing strategies and communication tools/systems to ensure shipment quality and on-time delivery.• Act as escalation contact for difficult logistics issues for the business.• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including CSC (Customer Service), manufacturing, commercial (sales) teams, sourcing, and PSI, driving continuous improvement and ensuring on-time, complete, and compliant deliveries to our customers.• Work with headquarters project teams to improve the Freight Bill Audit & Pay processes.• Build tools and reporting that help Logistics teams monitor costs and KPIs to help make smart decisions that benefit customers and Suez.• Lead Global Logistics process improvements by partnering with Operations, Finance, Sourcing, and Project Teams.• Mentor NAM Logistics Teams on and develop best practices related to freight costs, freight payment, and carrier management.• Manage, coordinate, and follow up on performance of 3rd party providers for the region.• Provide back up support as needed to operations teams for daily and weekly logistics processes.• Coordinate project logistics shipments working with project management and sourcing teams with an eye toward continuous process improvement.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management with minimum of 2 years Logistics/Operations Experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 5 years of logistics, operations, sourcing, planning or related experience.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS• Previous knowledge and experience with Logistics and import/export compliance• Knowledge and Experience with SAP ERP or other equivalent ERP systems• Customer service and results oriented• Strong interpersonal skills• Ability to provide leadership and direction to Team Members• Team player, demonstrated pro-active and self-starter behavior• Ability to communicate data efficiently and effectively (verbal and written)• Ability to drive growth and improvements through influence and collaboration across functions• High sense of urgency• Demonstrated problem solving abilities and attention to detail• Advance computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint, ERP (preferably SAP)• Tableau user and/or developer a plus• Demonstrated experience working and decision making independentlyWe offer competitive compensation and benefits working in a dynamic environment with challenging projects and training provided to ensure your success.We realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger communities.
