Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a Contracts Engineer with experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry to provide support to our Client in the execution of projects based in Sasolburg. Job Objective: Carry out all Home Office and Field Contract Engineering/Administration requirements as delegated for the project and construction contracts to which he/she is appointed in accordance with applicable company and project requirements, systems, procedures, budgets and schedules. Preparation and control of tender/contract documents including commercial and contractual control of construction and service contracts including general administration and close-out activities and the return of all relevant records to home office for archiving on designated projects. Actively promote effective communication and relations with all other interfacing departments, disciplines and contractors in carrying out the assigned duties Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Pre-Contract (Tender stage) Participate in project contracting strategy, drafting bidders lists for approval. Prepare evaluation criteria, contracting schedule, Corporate Contract Execution Procedures. Prepare tender documents and co-ordinate planning and quantity surveying inputs. Submit tender document for approval before tender is issued to market. Assist if required in the preparation of Bills of Quantities and other pricing schedules. Reconciliation of tenders received and evaluation thereof. Participate in pre-tender and/or tender evaluation meetings. Comprehensive commercial evaluation of tenders reviewed for inclusion in tender report. Distribute relevant parts of tenders and expedite comments from other disciplines. Co-ordinate the commercial/technical evaluations, preparation tender report and bid summary for management approval. Prepare contract documents for approval and distribution. Contract award/manage Advise project team of contract award, distribution of relevant parts to construction Supervisors. Inform doc control of placement of contract. Ensure that all contract documentation has been issued. Manage contract administration and all necessary documentation as required. Review analyse and process monthly interim progress certificates. Attend all regular site meetings with contractors and issue contract and risk registers weekly. Review, adjudicate and analyse claims and back charges and expedite settlement when so required. Prepare and execute amendments to contracts, as necessary. Ensure that contractors bonds and insurances are in force. Prepare monthly and other commercial reports when so required. Operate within the requirements of the project schedule and budgets. Skills / Qualifications Qualifications: Pre-award and Contract tender experience Experience gained from onsite construction projects. Desirable Relevant NEC courses Knowledge, skills and experience: Contract tender and management experience NEC 3 experience essential Desirable Experience gained from execution of projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry and understanding key drivers for delivery of successful project execution.
