Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum


Contract: Permanent


Reporting to: EUA Equipment Manager


Location: Citypoint, London (Please note the London office will be moving to Canary Wharf early 2016)

The Company’s Liner Corporate division has an exciting opportunity in its London office based in Moorgate, for a confident and adaptable candidate to join their EUA Strategic Marketing team as a Europe and Africa Equipment Controller (Maintenance & Repair).


The purpose of this role is to oversee and evaluate all M & R activity in Europe and Africa. To check and maintain Europe and African control. Facilitate and initiate off-hire/cabotage programme. Manage and maintain reefer pricing and inventory control.


Typical tasks will consist of:



  • Evaluating and if necessary authorising repairs.

  • Ensuring regional compliance with Global M&R.

  • Arranging and co-ordinating cabotage units within Europe with a view to positioning cost savings.

  • Oversee and liaising with regional offices to facilitate off-hire of leased and one-way containers in accordance with instructions from GCCC.


Skills, Qualifications and Expertise



  • Previous experience in equipment control and M&R is desirable but not essential.

  • Sound, disciplined and methodical thinking is an essential requirement.

  • Ability to weigh up all criteria and reach a best possible solution.

  • Good report writing skills and Excel working experience is very desirable.

  • Clarity of thought and ability to multitask is crucial for the day to day working.

  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with all European & African offices, with a good degree of empathy and understanding of local conditions and constraints is desirable.
