Position Summary Purpose Acquire knowledge, work experience and be able to carry out key NDT training tasks within the IMDS Angolan office. Trainer Assistant responsibilities include working with the NDT trainer to advance their skills and knowledge in all NDT disciplines. As Trainer Assistant, you will progress through 3 levels and at the end will be a fully qualified NDT trainer in conventional NDT techniques, once you are fully trained you will have NDT level II qualifications and a recognized training qualification. There will also be the opportunity to further your career to level 111 qualifications and Advanced NDT qualifications for the right candidate. Duties & Responsibilities Functions ESSENTIAL • Acquire knowledge, work experience and certification in all NDT disciplines. • Flexible approach, team player and good communication skill • To undertake training and lectures covering basic levels in all NDT disciplines to ASNT • To learn, quality and be able to establish the most effective NDT techniques on components requiring inspection. • To undertake training in writing NDT procedures, method statements, technical documents, for conventional NDT methods. NON-ESSENTIAL • The list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post. • Assist with any other duties as and when required. • Undertake specific projects as instructed by management. Safety Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable to ensure a safe working environment. Actively participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks as required by company and client. Ensure that all Safety procedures are always adhered to and that required documentation is kept updated. Other Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems. Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company. Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment. Supervisory Responsibilities • This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities. (E). • Minimum 2 years' experience in a project environment (P) • Previous experience in oil & gas industry, track record of supporting the management of engineering / • inspection projects (P) • Familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures. (F) • Previous experience of coaching and mentoring. (P) • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suits. (E) • Excellent customer service and client relations skills (P) • Gives and receives constructive feedback while receiving coaching and mentoring. (E) • Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within the work group. (E) Working Conditions This position is considered ONSHORE/OFFSHORE which is characterized as follows: • Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water • Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment. • Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels. • Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks. • Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases. • Work surface is stable, height is elevated. • Requires working with radiation.
