JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is currently recruiting for Welders with extensive experience to join our team in Hides, Papua New Guinea on a Fly in Fly Out rotational schedule (6 weeks on / 4 weeks off). Reporting directly to the Welding Supervisor, this position will ensure approved welding procedures; methods and consumables are used by qualified personnel to ensure all quality requirements of construction and fabrication are met in accordance with appropriate procedures and international codes of practice, namely AS/NZS ISO 9001.RESPONSIBILITIESTo conduct fit up and dimension tolerance settings for piping assemblies as per the approved welding procedure specification and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) To apply approved welding parameters and verify compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications and technical proceduresMaintain good conduct and work harmoniously with other employees using fundamental interpersonal skills required of the work settingPlan all work, taking into account all changing conditions and to report progress accuratelyApplying appropriate welding methods to attach part or assemble, structural steel, equipment or pipework, including pipe supports and brackets to specific test standardsModifications/rectifications of pre-fabricated modulesSelecting, setting up and operating hand tools and welding equipment Able to be assigned work independently in remote locations with various groups of mechanical tradesQUALIFICATIONS8 years minimum experience in the Oil & Gas industryQualified, certified and knowledgeable in the installation of piping and structural steel in accordance with the codes applicable to the services being performedQualified for all welding codes and positions being used in these servicesFamiliar with the various grades of steelGood working knowledge of welding and piping codes and the ability to read construction drawingsCapable of welding in accordance with the procedures of the latest editions of the following codes or their equivalentExperienced in Code welding and qualifying weld procedure specificationsComplete working knowledge of welding positions, filler metals, base metals, jointExceptional communication skills.If you're an experienced Welder ready for your next project, then we are keen to hear from you today.
