JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is currently recruiting Senior Process Engineers to join its Perth team. These roles will provide technical input within Operations Engineering and the wider Wood organisation, predominantly relating to projects in oil and gas facilities covering onshore gas plants (including LNG) and offshore gas and condensate platforms.Join a culture of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will report to the Process Manager / Lead Engineer their assigned project / study with respect to timely delivery of reports, presentations, drawings, calculations and datasheets. You will work closely with engineers of other disciplines and the client to support them in making appropriate technical decisions for the project.RESPONSIBILITIESYou will build positive relationships with all stakeholders and will be guided in your career journey to effectively: Work on engineering projects at any phase including concept identification and selection, FEED, Detailed Design, commissioning, and start-up. Develop technically sound, fit-for-purpose solutions for the Energy Industry following relevant engineering and design processes. Manage yourself to produce Process deliverables (e.g. P&IDs, PFDs, Calculations, Simulations, Reports) in accordance with the work budget and schedule. Check Process deliverables produced by your team members in accordance with the Wood quality management procedures. Estimate process engineering manhours required to perform basic tasks. Set clear technical direction for any assigned direct reports on the project. Stand in as deputy for the Lead Process Engineer for specified periods of absence, where required. Communicate with your team and clients, presenting results, proposals, and ideas. Actively engage with engineers from other disciplines to improve communication and delivery. Understand the needs and perspectives of the client. Contribute to effective design review processes (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA), identifying and eliminating rework in later project stages. Keep your Lead Process Engineer apprised of project activities and progress. Assist in developing less experienced engineers, promoting team participation, and providing mentorship. Identify potential weaknesses in existing practices and tools and initiate improvement processes. Actively apply HS&E procedures. QUALIFICATIONSTo be considered for this opportunity, you must hold working rights to work lawfully in an Australian location. Those with visa applications in progress are also encouraged to apply. You will be suitably qualified in Chemical Engineering from a recognised institution and have: 6+ years design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production and processing industries. An ability to apply relevant technical practices, codes and standards appropriate to the Process Engineering discipline. An ability to manage risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements. Excellent analytical, numerical and communication skills (both written and verbal). Capability and willingness to undertake site visits either onshore or offshore. Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and commercial engineering programs such as HYSYS or Unisim, Flarenet, Pipenet, HTFS or HTRI, etc. A "solutions mindset" and be able to manage varying tasks with changing and competing priorities. Experience participating in HAZOP, HAZID and LOPA studies.
