Position Summary The Senior Network Engineer will oversee the installation and support of all IT components aligned to the client's enterprise standards. The Network Engineer shall provide oversight to design, build, install, commission and handover the systems. Duties & Responsibilities Safety • Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment. Duties and Responsibilities • Configure, testing, troubleshooting of network and server equipment in coordination with project, engineering, and customer team. • Lead onsite project teams and provide valuable input for project planning activities. • Update and maintain installation document and as build. • Complete testing and commissioning procedures and paperwork of systems to ensure operational requirements are met. • Ability to travel to onshore/offshore domestic and international project sometimes on last minute notice. • Must be able to work remotely for prolonged periods of time to ensure successful project completion. • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards. • Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment. Supervisory Responsibilities • This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities. Reporting Relationship • Reports to Network Engineering Manager Qualifications Required • Ability to think with a security mindset. The successful candidate must have a strong IT background within depth knowledge of several key security practice area: access control; controls systems; application security; network security; security architecture; security strategy. • Knowledge and proficiency with fundamental to intermediate security concepts like Firewall policies, routing and switching and an ability to troubleshoot infrastructure components. • Advance working knowledge of Fortinet and/or Palo Alto Firewall configuration. • Network and firewall design and deployment per client's requirements. • Advance working knowledge of IP VPN, MPLS and firewall technologies. • Knowledge of Routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) are required. • Installation and commissioning of VMware ESXi (vSphere) Virtual Machines, SAN, and Power Distribution systems. • Design and Implementation of Networking/Datacomms solutions to various systems on the platform. • Deployment of antivirus repositories, update patches using proprietary or standard methods. • Knowledge of ITIL framework, project, and service delivery management. • Knowledge of digital security, operational integrity and health and safety issues and practices associated with design and deployment of operational related systems. • Good technical awareness of web-based applications and infrastructure. • Experience working with technical and non-technical teams across a broad range of IT disciplines and geographies. • Ability to assess integrity and appropriateness of potential IT solutions. • Strong Planning, Cost Estimating, Risk Management, Performance Management, Quality & Delivery Assurance skills • Strong analytical skills, willing to challenge and be challenged • Strong interpersonal skills working at all levels in an organization • Strong attention to detail and delivery focused • Strong motivation with proactive approach to find options and solutions • Boiset certified Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics • Must be customer oriented. • Excellent troubleshooting skills. • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers. • Desire for growing technical knowledge. • Ability to act as a cross-departmental technical lead in previously stated technologies • Promote positive work environment • Possesses professional apprence and maintains good customer satisfaction • Ability to adapt to fluid schedules and changing needs to meet customers' needs Technologies Operating Systems - VMware vSphere (ESXi), Windows Server Network Equipment - Cisco Switches and Routers, Aruba wireless, FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls. Network Technologies - VPN, OSPF, BGP, STP, VTP, QoS Information Security Standards - IEC62443 Travel • Must be willing to travel locally or overseas. Working Conditions Initially this role will be based on an offshore platform in the Mauritania and Senegal region. This position is considered OFFSHORE WORK which is characterised as follows: • Almost exclusively outdoors during the day and occasionally at night. • Regular exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
