Overview / Responsibilities Wood is recruiting for a Senior Environmental Engineer / Specialist / Advisor to join our team in Perth, Western Australia as part of its Operations APAC West business. This is an opportunity to support expansion of work scopes for a key Oil & Gas client. Wood's Operations APAC West business delivers brownfields and greenfield engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the oil, gas and new energies sectors and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Kazakhstan and South East Asia. An opportunity exists for the provision of ongoing environmental engineering support for a large gas project for an international operator, as part of Wood Projects. Potential also exists for ongoing involvement in a range of other major projects in Wood's portfolio. Reporting to the Environmental Engineering Manager APAC you will complete technical environmental engineering / advisory deliverables and activities, as required for Wood engineering projects. Role modelling Wood's vision, values, and behaviours including promoting safe working practices at all times you will also be responsible for: Key project personnel liaison (Wood engineering, project management and client representatives) Understanding of offshore and onshore construction projects Vent, discharge and emission analysis / assessment Construction Environmental Management Plan preparation Environmental Basis of Design preparation Environmental Hazard Identification (ENVID) workshop and reporting Waste Management Plans Project engineering workshops and reviews ALARP demonstration Environmental approvals and permitting support. Skills / Qualifications At Wood you will join an inclusive and diverse global community of inquisitive minds and recognised industry innovators, partnering to create new possibilities. Ideally you will be an Australian citizen or be eligible to hold Permanent Residency (PR) to work lawfully in Australia. The role will suit a person with tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution. In addition, you will have : Demonstrated experience in environmental project support for offshore and onshore gas projects or equivalent sectors Excellent working knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and regulations Experience in new energies, energy transition is desirable Established competence in environmental permit and approvals management - application compilation, submission, and associated reporting Excellent technical writing skills Collating and interpreting environmental performance data Good planning and organisational skills On-site practical knowledge and experience (on and offshore and in asset lifecycle) Effective / competent MS Office Suite User High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
