Overview / Responsibilities Wood is recruiting the Bruneian Local or Permanent Residence for QC Visual Welding Inspector (Offshore) position for its Rejuvenation Project in Brunei Darussalam. Successful applicants will be responsible day-to-day activities for delivery of the Quality Management scope. This scope will cover deliverables, planning, option selection and economic reviews. This is an end-to-end rejuvenation scope and as such will involve interfacing with other disciplines, planning, construction, procurement, and client operations. Reporting to QC Coordinator and Senior QC Inspector: the main functions of the role will be to ensure that all visual welding inspections of piping, structural and mechanical activities are performed as per client specification and international standards. Operating welding data logger with direct supervision by Senior QC Inspector to verify all output of welding parameters i.e., amperage, voltage, and welding travel speed in accordance with approved WPS/PQR. Prepare daily reports on the work in progress of visual welding inspection and welding data logger control as per required by project team and client. Assist Senior QC Inspector in compiling quality control data package (QCDP) and to include the scope for QC inspection report verification by client Quality function. Assist Senior QC Inspector to carry out quality surveillance in offshore installation as stated in an approved procedures, inspection, and test plans to ensure the compliance. Assist Senior QC Inspector to perform visual welding inspection for welded joints of work in progress and of completed units for visible defects, correct dimensions, and conformance with layout, blueprint, and work order specifications. Assist Senior QC Inspector on examining welded joint to detect flaws, such as cracks, cold weld, spatter, and undercuts, using flashlight and magnifying glass. Report any non-complying items at site to Senior QC Inspector that need to be isolated to prevent inappropriate use. Assist Senior QC Inspector to provide weekly input to the QAQC reporting system, with regards to trends and unresolved exceptions and problems. Assist Senior QC Inspector to provide early warning of potential quality problems and ensure non-conformances are identified, tracked, and closed. Conduct aligned duties as directed by QC Coordinator and/or Senior QC Inspector. Skills / Qualifications Personal Requirements: A demonstrable commitment to safety in the workplace; leading by example. Demonstrable knowledge of Oil & Gas industry materials and equipment. Possess a minimum of 1 year experience in any welding job of scopes. Attention to detail, commitment to a "Right-First Time" ethos. Good coordination, interpersonal skills Good written skills, ability to present data in a clear and concise manner. Self-motivating, well organized, resourceful, and proactive. Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a commitment to meeting and maintaining compliance.
