Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Designer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. Key Responsibility: Review project documents to assure that each Sr. Designer is informed and copied on all design specific and necessary project related information. Plays a primary role in defining the electrical design scope of work, required deliverables, budget and schedule in order to support project objectives. Work with design team and Lead Engineer to assure: - Changes in scope are communicated and supported in an orderly and efficient manner. - Trend / change orders are addressed in an orderly and efficient manner. - Technical accuracy and consistency of all design documents. Complete understanding of the entire facility electrical system and method of discipline design and deliverable production. - Power Distribution - Control Schematics / Wiring - Plans and Details - Schedules / Spreadsheets Attend project meetings as required. Working knowledge of applicable codes. Assign specific design task to discipline design team. Working knowledge of each design disciplines. Provide direct field construction support as required by the project. Computer literacy with working knowledge of all electrical design software. Complete understanding of the skill required for all lower classification. Perform technical audits for accuracy and consistency of discipline design documents Assist Design Supervisor in: - Determine project staff requirements / assignments - Evaluate personnel performance as required Skills / Qualifications The Electrical Designer shall has a minimum qualification as below: - Diploma/Certificate in Technical course - Minimum total of 20 years of design experience in oil and gas project - Minimum of 15 years experience as a designer in oil & gas project - Good in AutoCAD software to perform 2D design drawings - Good in 3D PDMS software to perform 3D design modeling - Proactive & team work - Good communication with peer - Able to work under pressure and over the normal business hours - Leadership ability, organizational and communication skill Company Overview Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
