Job Title Data Science Intern - Image analysis Duration 3 months (Fall 2023) Location Schlumberger-Doll Research, Cambridge, MA, US (onsite) Job Description and Responsibilities At Schlumberger-Doll Research (SDR) Center in Cambridge MA, the Geosciences department is developing solutions for automating rock particle analysis from digital images. We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD or MS candidate with experience in computer vision and machine learning to join our international team. The intern is expected to work autonomously on image analysis subjects, such as image classification, representation learning, and segmentation using machine learning, image processing, and signal processing techniques. The intern is expected to understand the problem, explore solutions, and present the results. The intern will also participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and will have opportunities to interact with internal engineering and business units. Qualifications MS or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Geoscience, Physics, or related discipline. Working knowledge of relevant development language and tools, such as Python, PyTorch, and Docker. Hands-on experience in machine learning and/or deep learning projects in image analysis / computer vision. Software development experience is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.The candidate must be available to start the internship in September 2023 in our Cambridge office.
