Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently seeking a Business Development Manager in order to grow its Perth Mining & Mineral group to meet the large demand in critical metals projects. This role will be a full time permanent role working in the Perth CBD and reporting to the Director, Business Development. Working closely with the mining team in Brisbane and Perth, you will build, maintain and strengthen respected and valued customer relationships to secure opportunities that provide the greatest probability of success for the business and actively promote the Wood brand developing our presence in the region. A key component of decarbonising the world is the Mining and Minerals Industry which supplies the critical minerals required for this revolution. Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects. In this role, some of the duties you will undertake include: Create and implement strategies to grow our engineering business in the mining and mineral processing sector Drive the key customer process focused on organisations with potential to deliver regular, sustainable work for Wood and coordinate research into potential new work and project opportunities Consistently work to embellish new and existing client relationships, coordinating information on leads, opportunities and companies via the companies selected CRM software Assist in the management of conversion strategies associated with existing assignments / customers that will progress to the next phase of development. Be part of internal approval process on key tenders and prepare executive summaries Prepare marketing collateral as required, co-ordinate and promote Wood brand at events and develop strong client networks Participate in workload assessment, capacity reviews and forecast processes Work to be informed on the changing development within the mining and minerals industry within the region and actively work to identify and establish relationships with strategic partners for new opportunities Prepare Registrations of Expressions of Interest and pre-qualifications and panel submissions and gather feedback from clients on contract completion Skills / Qualifications What will set you apart as the ideal candidate is your recent relevant experience within similar role together with a strong understanding of the Mining and Mineral Processing sector. You will be energetic, passionate, and have an extensive network which will allow you to excel in this role. You will also have: Degree level qualifications with 10+ years' experience within the Mining sector - ideally blending Operations and Project experience Demonstrated understanding of customer needs and a consulting framework and able to translate those needs into effective strategies to deliver successfully and secure new work Strong networking skills and ability to build a culture of consistent customer focus with internal stakeholders Demonstrated technical / project background with solid understanding of mining and minerals processing plant technologies Experienced in proposals and presentation preparation and polished presentation delivery Ability to effectively manage tight time frames and co-ordinate virtual teams Ability to travel as required Please note, applicants must have valid working rights in Australia and be Perth based to be considered at this time.
