Overview / Responsibilities Wood is recruiting for an Engineering Manager for our Operations business in Australia & Asia Pacific West (APAC West) to support ongoing growth of the long-term engineering service contract for one of our key client partnerships. Based in Perth CBD, this is a permanent role and is available as full-time / part-time (job share) basis. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering APAC West, you will be responsible for the engineering of multi-discipline engineering scopes of work on multiple projects, as part of a decade long global master services agreement supporting brownfield offshore and onshore assets. Anticipating client needs beyond the immediate scope, you will drive technical excellence and assurance on the engineering portion of a projects across all disciplines to add value to the client and asset portfolio, while balancing client relationships and enabling the ongoing development and growth of the Contract team. As an engineering professional you will participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects and as a leader, enjoy contributing to delivery of engineering excellence through: Managing and leading, supporting, and supervising the discipline engineering teams on the assigned scopes of work. Managing key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities. Coordinating and completing the various engineering, and start-up aspects of projects while meeting HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget performance goals. Developing and retaining motivated and competent people. Undertaking the role of process owner. Skills / Qualifications You will: Be an Australian citizen or be eligible to hold Permanent Residency (PR) to work lawfully in Australia. Have a degree qualification in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field. Ideally you will have proven experience in a similar Engineering Manager role or have considerable experience in a Discipline Manager role with relevant experience in successful operational and strategic delivery for a complex contract / portfolio within the Oil & Gas sector. You will be an expert in engineering excellence with extensive knowledge of engineering theories and techniques and a high level of skill in the application of this knowledge in the management of the engineering function. As a leader of people, you will have several years of supervisory experience with an understanding of human relations, training, performance evaluation, and health and safety. Commercially astute, you are a savvy negotiator and mediator, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practice, while driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do. You will be customer focused with an ability to develop sincere and open relationships with internal and external stakeholders, balancing with operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
