Overview / Responsibilities Wood KSS is looking for an expression of interest from a Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer (Expatriate) with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our Operations business on a 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. This role will be an inital 12 month contract commencing August/September 2023. Wood "Operations" delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers. Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will you will be working collaboratively with a multi-discipline engineering team across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery. Skills / Qualifications As part of the regional requirements for obtaining work permits, you must hold a degree qualification in Electrical Engineering. Suitably qualified in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution, ideally you will have more than 10 years of proven experience in the in the oil and gas petrochemical industry working within the engineering EPCM sector. In addition, you will have: I n-depth technical knowledge of Electrical Engineering (both design and operation) i n one or more of the following areas: Power generation Power distribution (MV & LV) Equipment specification (i.e. Power Transformers, MV & LV motors and drives, MV & LV switchgear, cabling, lighting, earthing) Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards Ability to manage risk during the design process consistent with safety, technical and commercial requirements Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills Proven experience managing teams of Engineers Multi-discipline knowledge as well as quality management standards and practices Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with proven experience in client facing roles Demonstrate commitment to Wood and client values & behaviours What will set you apart will be proven FEED and greenfields gas processing facility experience working in a similar Principal Electrical Engineer role.
