Overview / Responsibilities Wood KSS is looking for an expression of interest from a Lead Estimator (Expatriate) with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our Operations business on a 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. This role will be an initial 12 month contract commencing August/September 2023. Wood "Operations" delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers. As a Lead Estimator reporting to the Project Controls Manager your primary focus is to prepare an FID project budget through the successful delivery of a Class 3 estimate package. In addition, you will also enjoy the role of mentor with the opportunity to share your expertise with nationals. Skills / Qualifications Qualifications: As part of the regional requirements for obtaining work permits, you must hold a relevant degree qualification in a technical / business discipline Job-Specific Skills: A minimum of 3 years in either a lead or supervisory estimating position, within the Oil & Gas industry Excellent understanding of Cost Control, Estimating, Change control, Risk analysis and Planning Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques Knowledgeable in the supervision of project controls personnel Thorough knowledge of all estimating techniques and systems with a detailed knowledge of their implementation Knowledge of engineering and construction projects in the oil and gas industry, preferably in both onshore and offshore environment Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs / systems Personal attributes: Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) Excellent analytical and numerical skills Be prepared to undertake site visits either onshore / offshore A solutions mindset and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities What will set you apart will be your proven experience preparing a Class 3 estimate from first principles on a major multi-disciplined CAPEX project ($400M+) within the brownfields Oil & Gas industry.
