Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Offshore Structural Engineer with experience in the offshore oil and gas industry to work at our Park Ten Office in Houston, TXLocal candidates preferred as there is no relocation assistance or per diem. Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.Contributes to project technical delivery through:Use of technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments, sometimes representing a significant portion of a larger projectProduction of a range of engineering deliverables including complex problemsEvaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasksAbility to makes design recommendationsAbility to complete almost any engineering tasks with minimal guidance and directionDevelopment and review of designs, drawings, and other engineering deliverables involving both existing and new technology and applicationsAbility to serve as the primary discipline engineer on projects with small to medium complexity Skills / Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industryBachelor's Degree (minimum) or Master's Degree (preferred) in Civil / Structural Engineering disciplineProficient knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and standards (API RP 2A, AISC, ISO, etc)Proficient with industry software (SACS, SESAM, ANSYS, MathCAD, etc)Able to provide guidance and direction to a project teamAble to recommend solutions to technical issues during the course of performing assignmentsAble to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to the assignment / taskAble to create functional and cost effective designs that meet project requirementsAble to analyze and interpret structural drawingsDemonstrates a proficiency in understanding project planningProactively communicates across work groups to resolve barriers and applies sound technical skillsConducts work in a professional mannerGood interpersonal and team working skills, builds positive relationshipsGood verbal and written communication skillsCreative and innovative in finding solutionsEnthusiastic, conscientious, and committed to continuous professional developmentHigh level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily workStrong organizational skills and attention to detailHighly motivated and demonstrates personal initiativePossesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable Company Overview Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
