Understand and use geotechnical principles in detailed design for offshore wind farmsAct as geotechnical focal point of Project Team, taking active role in kick-off & progress meetings, manage own deliverables and those of assigned subcontractor, and interface with other project functions.Interpret, review and comment on Client supplied geotechnical information and data, including geophysical, geotechnical, bathymetric and other related survey data.Experienced in understanding behaviour and factors contributing to mobile seabed features, such as sandwaves and megaripples, and their effect on trenching tools and cable lay operations.Good knowledge of how trenching equipment works and its uses and limitations, both for jet trenching tools, cutting trenching tools and other cable burial equipment available on the market.Understand geotechnical risk and any associated financial/safety/quality implications to Seaway7.Undertake geotechnical engineering calculations and design reports for cable/soil interaction.Understand earthquake risks to cables and other subsea infrastructure and mitigation measures that can be taken.Work under limited supervision of either Principal Engineer, Engineering Consultant-Specialist or Project Engineering ManagerUpto date knowledge of industry good practice and developments in geotechnical engineering and trenching activities.With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, Automotive and Chemicals sectors worldwide.With more than 100 offices in 45 countries, we are able to provide our clients with the engineering and technical expertise they need, wherever and whenever it is needed.
