Our technology center is a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art research and computing facilities. We work on applied research projects in the physical sciences to meet the current and future challenges of the industry. Job Summary: The Full Stack Software Engineer develops scientific applications with back-end services and front-end interfaces either on proprietary system (Techlog) or on the web. He implements new functionalities or enhance current solution with using in-house framework or third-party components. The application could be hosted in cloud infrastructure, at edge or on Techlog depending on the context. The position integrates into software team, works closely with physicists, and reports to the project manager The Interpretation department develops Answer Products taking as input SLB well logs (measurements from various physical sensors) and produce as outputs: processed data and information on the sub-surface (geology, petrophysics, well properties...) to help SLB customers (Energy companies) in their decision-making process. Such Answer Products combine physical principles and models with applied maths techniques and are integrated as software products within Techlog* or are run as microservices on the web.In the Interpretation Department, you will participate in the development of Processing and Interpretation answer products such as Techlog plugins and/or web services on the Cloud. You will participate in coding and testing and validation. You will work in close cooperation with domain experts and physicists; this requires good communication skills within a multidisciplinary scientific and technical environment, mostly in English. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Develops and maintains new or improved software products and techniques, working in a semi-autonomous environment where fast prototyping with emerging technologies to solve industry-related problems is the rule. Develops of server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end Develop application or web front ends following prototyping Collaborate with other developers, users, and product managers to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the solution. Ensure the solution is deployable, operable, and secure by default. Build products and systems that meets the project quality standards and requirements Adopts test strategies to ensure and maintain source code quality. Qualifications: Master's degree in computer science or Engineering with scientific software experience or education.Required Technical Skills Experience with one or more backend programming languages - C++, Python. (C#, Java are a plus) Experience continuous integration and continuous delivery technologies with Azure DevOps Knowledge with test driven software development Experience with version control tools such as Git Nice-to-Have Technical Skills Experience of one or more open-source framework for front-end development like Angular.
