Position Summary Provides Manufacturing Engineering leadership, direction, and support for Manufacturing Engineering Operations worldwide to accomplish business objectives. Support individual onsite leadership, with problem solving and solutions. LOCATION Role provides the opportunity to work in hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office when required. Travel at least 50% of the time Duties & Responsibilities PROVIDES MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING LEADERSHIP AND DIRECTION FOR THE LOCAL SITES TO ACCOMPLISH THE FOLLOWING: Work with techs worldwide to develop improved Standard Work practices and document those practices clearly. Provide machine and/or equipment installation, remanufacture, or repair leadership Manufacturing Engineer will direct programmers to insure proper function throughout all phases of machine operation. Develop, evaluate, and improve service and manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design, material, tooling, and equipment needs to ensure efficient production methods. Confer with vendors to determine specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts. Evaluate, and validate supplier equipment properly. Support management, engineering, quality, and others regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations. Identify improvement opportunities by utilizing statistical methods to analyze existing operations and estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Lead implementation of Operational Excellence activities including but not limited to; Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Standard Work, SQDIP Boards, Total Preventative Maintenance, etc. Coordinate lessons learned and "best practices" among multiple locations and workshops. Maintain or create central repository with manufacturing engineering best practices/processes. Support SIOP activities including resource and capacity planning, scheduling, and inventory. Travel minimum of 50% of the time. Develop or model cell and plant layouts for efficiency and optimization. Qualifications REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Minimum 7 Years Manufacturing Engineering experience. Minimum 5 years' experience with Lean Manufacturing, particularly in Mixed Model application including material flow, Balance Carts, capacity planning, standard work, and related concepts. Understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems, as well as PLC capabilities, PID loops, SCADA, DCS, and other control systems used to control machines and processes. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, other advanced quality training might be considered if comparable. Lean training, SME Certification or equivalent. Must be able to obtain a TWIC badge (see https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic for requirements. Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience with Minitab and AutoCAD or SolidWorks. Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time. DESIRED Ten (10) years manufacturing engineering experience in manufacturing disciplines and/or situations directly related to Primary responsibilities listed on page one. Must be knowledgeable in metal fabrication, assembly operations, quality audits, metrological instruments, inspection processes, SPC, TQM, document control, process change, and change leadership. Understanding of PLC capabilities, PID loops, SCADA, DCS, and other control systems used to control machines and processes. Familiarity with O&G subsea equipment, including umbilicals, and related manufacturing methodoligies. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience. Ability to establish and maintain project priorities. Ability to organize and motivate groups and/or interdisciplinary teams to reach a common goal. Ability to work independently and lead project teams. Expresses ideas clearly and concisely in writing. Ensures that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans. Additional Information This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
