Position Summary The leader of this team will be responsible for the readiness of the manufacturing processes, including equipment realibility, process tooling, production documentation and process capabilities. The position holder shall assess operational risk and provide technical solutions for mitigation purposes. This position will manage effectively the team, its priorities as it aligns to operational and plant goals and objectives. Duties & Responsibilities Supervises a support team that focuses on risk prevention throughout the plant with a chronological focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabricatnion processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards Work with the quality organization, to improve and/or develop appropriate quality control standards to support new and exisiting projects and products Lead implementation of operational excellence acitivities including but not limited to; safety audits, value stream mapping, 6S, standard work, SQDIP boards, TPM, and more Ability to effectively represent the department on multi organizational teams as leader, member or facilitiator Communicates a clear, vivd, and relevant description or picture of where the organization should be in 3, 5, or 10 years Ability to build staff capacity through effective coaching, modeling adaption to change, mentoring and fostering initative Promoting equal and fair treatment for all. Adhere to Oceaneering Core Values Lead in plant wide initiatives that will require cross functional team work in safety and quality projects Establish key process metrics for monitoring & documenting process performance, capability and quality Leading a team structured problem solving, root cause analysis & quality imporvement on product defects & manufacturing process failures. Identify & implement corrective actions and improvements to prevent reoccuence Other duties as assigned Qualifications REQUIRED BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of eductiona nd experience in manufactruring techncial support Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) to gain access to the facility Must be able to obtain a passport for potential international travel DESIRED Previous management experience with a manufacturing team Training and development in black belt certification, value stream mapping, Taproot analysis History with developing and maintaining budgets KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of styles and techniques approporiate to the audience Ensures that important information from management is shared with employees within the department and others as necessary Knowledge of communication styles and techniques Synthesizes complex or diverse information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; designs work flows and procedures Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
