Position Summary The Business Development Strategy Lead will play a critical role in the development and adoption of a performance excellence system and enable ongoing actualization of our strategic plan and transformation of OTECH. Will help ensure alignment of key components of an effective performance excellence system to satisfy customer need, achieve business results, and grow the business. Under the guidance of the Director of Business Development, will play a key role in providing oversight and coordination of enterprise-wide strategic initiatives. Will support the Department of Business Development in driving all aspects of strategy for the organization in collaboration with stakeholders. Works across the company to identify and ensure execution of strategic initiatives and performance improvement efforts that drive the attainment of the organization's vision and goals. Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL Contributes to the ongoing evaluation and development of OTECH business processes to ensure our management and operating systems support our mission and strategic goals. In partnership with identified leaders builds and evolves a performance excellence system to support a culture that is in alignment with our business strategy. This includes using the Malcom Baldrige Framework to assess, define, and implement efforts to improve how: Senior leader personal actions guide and sustain the organization (i.e., MVV, leadership behaviors). We develop strategic objectives and action plans. Our organization engages its customers to achieve market success, including how we listen to the voice of our customer to exceed expectations. We select, gather, manage, and improve our data and information assets. Our organization assesses workforce capability and capacity, builds an environment of high performance to attract the best talent and allow them to reach their full potential. Our organization aligns, designs, manages, and innovates products and services and improves operational effectiveness. Facilitates work groups to develop and improve these processes as needed. Contributes to the development of comprehensive system wide strategies and takes a key role in the planning, development, and successful execution of strategic plan initiatives. Collaborates with leaders across the business to integrate the strategic plan and translate that into an aligned set of strategic themes, cross-functional roadmaps, and delivery schedules with clear lines of accountability and outcomes. Helps drive a culture of accountability by ensuring we understand the business drivers behind our strategic priorities and initiatives and produces dashboards, scorecards, and metrics that help us to evaluate success and outcomes. Regularly assesses all components of the existing strategic and tactical plans to ensure relevance in a dynamic environment and recommends plan adjustments as needed. Help clarify and focus OTECH strategic market position and identify profitable lines of business. Helps assess and define vital external partnerships needed to grow the business. Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure alignment of the strategic plans with the budgets, long-range financial, and capital plan. Uses facts, data, and insights to help all stakeholders understand strategic trade-offs and drive better decision making. Monitors external trends, sharing anticipated impact and driving strategy discussion with key leaders. Works with leadership to plan and implement an effective performance improvement system to support strategic priorities, ensure alignment of and achieve measurable business results. Provides expertise and guidance to leaders in the application and deployment of resources to improve performance. Promotes the integration of continuous improvement principles and behaviors into the culture and enables the organization to optimize its performance by partnering with leaders and leveraging resources across the company. Qualifications REQUIRED Master's degree in business or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic planning, business/partnership development, innovation, performance improvement, and organizational transformation. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance. Strong computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint. Able to fully assess and identify opportunities to improve components of a performance excellence system using Baldrige to focus, align, and accelerate organizational performance. Skillfully works through and sustains relationships, using data, market intelligence and business development to foster support across the organization. Excellent quantitative, analytical, qualitative, and critical thinking skills with an ability to cut through uncertainty, cultural issues, and other system barriers in a professional way to drive results. Facilitates discussions across the organization to enable collaboration with each other and promotes collaboration across multiple parties. Engages people in dialogue to gain commitment and bring them "on board," linking their perspectives to the intent. Strong ability to influence others. Adapts own approach to various audiences, anticipating impact of words and actions, preparing for possible resistance, and responding in an appropriate style, using a range of influencing styles. DESIRED Relevant experience with engineering and/or government contracting. Familiarity with offshore or subsea industries. Successful completion of Malcom Baldrige Examiner training and at least 1 year experience as a reviewer. Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Additional Information This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
