Position Summary The Unreal Engine 4/5 Developer will design and develop learning and practicing experiences. The goal is to facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and appealing manner through 3D simulations and gamification of existing e-learning, animations and practical workshop demonstrations. Most of this material will be based around emerging technologies in the oil and gas support industry, including Remotely operated vehicles (ROV), safety, Space Systems, and our Advanced Technologies. LOCATION Role provides the opportunity to work in hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office when required. Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL Create engaging 3D learning activities, simulations, and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer. Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience's training needs. State instructional end goals and create content that matches them. Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product. Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts. Create supporting material/media (audio, video, textures, materials, games, etc. Utilize and interpret Unreal Engine blueprints and sequencer tools. Implement object/camera animations, stage elements and events in multiple environments. Solid understanding of lighting, particle systems, post-processes, material setup and general workflows inside Unreal Engine. Decide on the criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments within the program/simulation. Maintain project documentation. Qualifications REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2 years of experience with Unreal Engine or a comparable game engine in a professional environment. Ability to model, unwrap/texture and animate in 3DS Max, Blender, Maya, or equivalent. Solid understanding of game design and visual scripting, preferably using UE Blueprints. Proficiency in Photoshop or other 2D art programs. Knowledge of video editing using Adobe Premiere and/or After Effects. Exposure to, or knowledge of competency systems and development. Basic experience with SCORM and Learning Management Systems. DESIRED Proficiency in UE Material Editor, Niagara, Level Sequencer. Proficiency in C++. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Ability to undertake any training, mentoring, and personal development set by the Training Development Manager. Ensures that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans. Ensure that all files are backed up and stored logically in our content management system. Share any completed work with the team for peer review and actively participate in peer reviews of other team members projects. Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility. Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Additional Information This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
