Position Summary The primary role of this position is to perform routine Inventory, Shipping & Receiving functions and/or Material handling under general supervision. Duties & Responsibilities Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a mobile computer. Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. Verify inventory counts of stock items and investigate quantity discrepancies. Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas. Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. Operate material handling equipment, including forklift and tier lift operation. Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities. Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors. Aids other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers. Always maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area. Qualifications REQUIRED High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Minimum of two years of experience in a warehouse environment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Safety-minded approach to daily activities in the workplace Customer-satisfaction focused approach to daily interactions with internal customers and service providers. Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills are required Effective time management skills to meet operational needs Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Applications and experience with Inventory Management Systems Additional Information PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
