Position Summary Oceaneering thrives by creating industry-changing technically creative solutions for the most complex operational challenges on the surface of the ocean, subsea, on land, and in space. The Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) division is looking for top-notch Engineering Interns with a desire to apply their talents towards solving the unsolvable in the marine environment. The successful engineer will be part of a dynamic cross-functional team that will plan, design, develop, integrate, and test world class solutions to meet customer needs. Assignments (some with strict deadlines to meet) will be commensurate with the student's academic background to take advantage of their expertise and provide real life application of their classroom knowledge. Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL Duties may include the following: Writing software for production or test tools Testing of software products, including bench or factory floor setups Installing or configuring software on test or production units Working as part of a team to meet customer requirements and deliverables Creation or maintenance of documents pertaining to the software lifecycle Learning about underwater technologies and how they relate to software choices Internship may be in a technical or business area and can include experiences with application development, application support, programming, project management, business analysis, database administration, network and systems management, as well as many others. Interns are given the opportunity to apply their skills and gain an understanding of the Oceaneering organization. Qualifications ESSENTIAL Must be a US citizen Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program as a rising junior or senior or a Master's degree program Ability to work full-time during defined internship period Familiarity with at least one high level programming language such as Java, C#, or C++ Familiarity with an integrated development environment (IDE) such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, or IntelliJ Interest in underwater robotics Basic proficiency with Microsoft 365 environment Desire to ask questions and seek answers to further your growth PREFERRED: 3.0+ cumulative GPA in a STEM degree program Academic excellence and community involvement Experience with additional programming languages and tools such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, TCL, XML, HTML, Matlab, SQL database management systems, or ESRI ArcGIS libraries Proficiency with Jira and Git Experience with Wireshark or other network packet analysis software Experience troubleshooting electrical circuits using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and other test tools Understanding of more advanced networking involving switches, routers, firewalls, etc. Comfortable developing, and debugging on the Linux or Windows operating system Hands-on experience with hardware interfaces, embedded processor architectures, microcontrollers, I/O device drivers, and board support packages Additional Information This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
