Position Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to utilize existing Syteline software system to plan, schedule, coordinate and supervise all Production activities, including new order processing; work order creation; raw material procurement; carry out assigned purchasing functions and arrange for the purchase and procurement of materials, supplies and services, shop scheduling, staging and loading; and on-going analysis of Production Control System. LOCATION Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position. Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL Create and process work orders from Sales Order and Stock Order demand, including creation of work instruction, attachment of manufacturing drawings and MTRs. Negotiate purchase transactions and place orders and contracts at terms favorable to the company, considering price, quality standards and delivery. Determine raw material and inventory requirements, and prepare purchases requisitions as necessary to support those requirements. Expedite progress of purchase orders from vendors by telephone, email, or other correspondence so as to conform to customer requirements, plant schedules or project requirements and production schedules. Execute purchase orders, contracts and supply agreements in accordance with company policy, government regulations, engineering specifications, drawings, and other technical documentation. Solicit competitive quotations from various sources selecting suppliers submitting the most favorable bid considering all phases of conditions and terms. Maintain timely control of orders, change orders, shipping notices, NCR's, invoice discrepancies, and other documents to assure record retention accuracy. Organize and maintain weekly purchase orders. Qualifications REQUIRED Minimum of (5) years experience in a planner or buyer role. Minimum 3 years of experience with ERP and MRP systems. Strong interpersonal skills, organization and analysis skills along with the ability to present oral and written plans, recommendations and performance. High level of understanding of Quality Initiatives and Total Cost concepts. Broad base technical understanding of relative commodities and be able to develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of commodities specific to our industry. Minimum 1 year experience reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications and work instructions. Minimum 1 year experience with manufacturing processes and lead times. Ability to demonstrate proficiency with a variety of software programs such as MS Office, Google Business, and Syteline. DESIRED College degree with Continuing Education. Experience with: Kanban system Safety stock replenishment Economic order quantities Lean Manufacturing tool Syteline ERP KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Knowledge of negotiation techniques. Skill to gather, analyze and interpret data.
