Overview / Responsibilities Due to anticipated growth throughout 2023, Wood is currently inviting applications for a Proposal/Project Engineer with experience in the Mining & Minerals industry to support the Business Development and Projects teams, based in Vancouver. Key Responsibilities: The business development team and the project team require a dedicated Proposal/Project Engineer to support and take ownership in various bid related activities such as reviewing and screening of ITT documents, support in Bid/ No bid decisions, scope understating, technical clarifications, man-hours estimate, proposal preparation, approval and submission, CRM, and related activities. This professional will also be involved in the project management of small/medium size studies, as a project engineer/coordinator. In this capacity, the project engineer will work closely with the project manager and the project team to deliver optimal results to our clients. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Review ITT/RFQ documentation and interpret the scope of work for all sizes of projects. Work and take ownership of proposals including written proposals, presentations, etc. Prepare/collate manhours/qualifications for the proposal from stakeholders. Collaborating with centers of excellence and other affiliate offices as required to prepare a winning proposal. Liaise with subcontractors, vendors & OEMs to obtain the costs for their services Provide customer responses (including expressions of interest, presentations, etc) Ensure that the proposal is compliant and delivered on time. Prepare/Review/analyze proposal sections for consistency and clarity, compliance with solicitation, requirements, and alignment with proposed solutions and themes, and writes/re-write proposal sections as necessary to deliver high-quality, customized, winning proposals. Prepare and deliver presentations (pre-proposal or post-proposal) to Clients and other internal stakeholders Take on the responsibility of Proposal Lead or Proposal Coordinator as required including (but not limited to) the following: Develop and implement the proposed management plan (responsibility/compliance matrix) Develop and implement the proposal schedule Support and contribute to the continual improvement of proposal procedures and processes Maintain CRM system up to date Skills / Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering Will require 5 -10 years' relevant experience in an EPCM environment Basic knowledge and experience in Project Management/Coordination on small, standard projects. Experience in developing basic services cost estimates based on past performance, with inputs from the engineering disciplines. Experience in the preparation of proposals for Studies, FEED, and Detail Engineering projects. Basic knowledge of contract models, purpose, value in risk management. Awareness of project initiation and management processes and tools. Keen understanding of task logic and durations in design, construction, or other relevant activities.
