Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for Engineering Manager for a key project to be based in our Brisbane office. Reporting to the Operations Manager this role will have direct responsibility for managing a multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver portfolio of brownfield EPC projects. The ideal candidate is hands-on and will have had previous experience in engineering management delivering major brownfield oil and gas project(s) through the EPC / EPCM phase. What sets you apart from other candidates, is your extensive experience and solid track record of working as an engineering manager for a project delivery contractor. Responsibilities Managing a multi-disciplinary engineering team to safely and efficiently deliver on agreed deliverables, schedule, and budget. Supporting and supervising high quality execution of the tasks assigned to the team Managing engineering scope of work, identifying any departures, and participating in the MOC Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of project activities Managing and directing engineering resources efficiently and effectively Coordinate technical delivery and assurance of the project Setting and maintaining standards for the development and retention of motivated and competent people within the engineering team Coordinate the interface between Engineering and other project functional groups, Procurement, Project Controls, Estimating, Quality Regularly and accurately report on progress of the engineering team through the established protocols; remedy any under-performance and identify opportunities to improve Demonstrate continuous improvement in contract performance through internal and external benchmarking Assist in incident investigations as required Assist in identifying and requesting functional support to the project as required Skills / Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering with a degree qualification Chartered Engineer or equivalent with recognized professional body 15+ years' experience of working for an engineering service contractor across the FEED and execute phase of projects where for some of that time you were formally worked as an engineering manager/overall engineering lead on a project. Previous oil and gas experience coordinating a multi-disciplinary engineering team, at leads' level to deliver on scope, budget, and schedule. Previous demonstrable experience where you have built strong repoire, trust and relationships with the client A proven team player who will not only be a great team fit but will have a track record of delighting clients Able to demonstrate team building skills and capable of influencing people at all levels of the organisation, sound dispute resolution skills in your area Superior written and oral communication capabilities with the ability to present, inform, and persuade at all levels and externally Candidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
