Position Summary The Mechanical Engineer will be a member of the New Products Development core team and play a critical role in the success of designing, prototyping and testing new product and service offerings for our commercial business units in subsea robotics, material handling automation, and in people mover applications, among others. Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL Conceptual design work, engineering analysis, and some development for new products. Source and evaluate necessary components and build prototypes and test setups. Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Write and review technical proposals, specifications and, testing procedures for qualification. Perform product testing. Ensure that customer requirements are systematically converted into total system solutions. Develop design approaches for complex engineering projects/products. Interact with customer representatives to define and manage customer expectations. Participate in technical reviews involving internal/external customers. Support assembly and testing of prototype and first article products. Qualifications REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2 years of experience with design, CAD modeling and visual concepts. Minimum 2 years of related industry experience or combination of education and experience. Technical knowledge and understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Solidworks, and AutoCad. DESIRED General working knowledge of robotics systems, electrical-mechanical systems, electric-electronics. Lifecycle management system (i.e.: PLM, PDM, etc.). General knowledge of analysis (i.e.: FEA, CAE, CFD, etc.). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Ability to establish and maintain project priorities and also lead technical discussion focusing on product design definition. Ability to effectively manage time to meet operational needs and desired outcomes. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Good technical writing skills. Additional Information This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
