We manufacture an innovative, market leading sub-sea production systems for the Oil and Gas market for offshore facilities.Partner with the bestThe Lead Materials Science Engineer will provide guidance, and support on topics associated with NDE, Welding, Metallurgy, and Fabrication processes within the MPE team and wider engineering community.You will Develop and update engineering guidelines, specifications and best practices within NDE, Welding, Metallurgy and Fabrication processes, and support in aligning such processes within the Global Subsea Production Systems and Services MPE teamThe Lead Materials Science Engineer will execute all Materials & Process Engineering tasks with efficiency and integrity. Tasks include but are not limited to:Reviewing and performing technical evaluations of contract requirements, design codes, manufacturing standards and specificationsWriting technical clarifications/exceptions and attend meetings on materials selection and manufacturing with customersDefining BH/Contract requirements - writing of technical reports and specificationsProviding materials selection and fabrication advice during design phase, and providing support to supply chain, attendance at audits and pre-production meetingsReviewing of vendors' special process procedures, e.g. NDE and welding procedure specifications, for use in the manufacturing of subsea equipmentEnsuring compliance initiatives are implemented and training requirements are metFuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:Have a relevant qualification in materials science or established industrial experiencePossess an understanding within NDE, Welding and metallurgy and fabrication processes such as forming, forging, heat treatment etcHave a willingness and ability to travel, as requiredWork in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
