Position Summary The Technical Writer will collaborate with instructional designers and competency managers to develop useful and engaging content and training modernization. The role will be responsible for updating and managing the company's knowledge base in written procedures, competency documentation, instructor-led materials, and LMS content. LOCATION Role provides the opportunity to work in hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office when required. Duties & Responsibilities ESSENTIAL Create and refine technical information and other various materials for explaining products and services Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards Suggest best practices and optimizations throughout content generation projects Collaborate with fellow developers and technical subject matter experts though to develop new approaches for creating more precise and engaging training for the company Manage complex information and multiple projects within content specifications and training analysis QA content for errors and have peer reviews carried out by your team Review and give feedback on the work of your peers to ensure a quality product Implement comprehensive technical documentation, feedback, and changes whenever possible Create technical documents that convey accurate messaging for a project NON-ESSENTIAL Exposure to, or knowledge of competency systems and development Basic experience/exposure with Learning Management Systems A recent sample portfolio would be advantageous at interview to determine work experience Qualifications REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in communications, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2 years of experience in technical writing or software documentation. Proficiency in word processor programs such as Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign, and PDF software such as Adobe Acrobat. Minimum 2 years of experience with systems development life cycle (SDLC). Minimum 2 years of experience with both print and digital media formats. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS Ability to undertake any training, mentoring, and personal development set by the Training Development Manager. Ensures that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans Ensure that all files are backed up and stored logically in our content management system Share completed work with the team for peer review and actively participate in peer reviews of other team members projects Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility. Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and organizational skills Good problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize work under pressure and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines Accuracy and attention to details Additional Information This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
