Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Designer to join our growing Brisbane office on this technically challenging Magnetite project in Uzbekistan. Commencing into the Detailed Design phase of the project you will need to have a sound background in electrical / instrumentation engineering design and modelling to ensure the detail design is executed successfully. This project promises to deliver to those looking for a challenge and inclusion within a successful team. Wood is leading some of the world's most technically challenging mining and minerals projects across a range of commodities, including the new wave of battery metal opportunities. You will be involved in the E&I design for this new project and support Instrumentation and Electrical Engineers with development of wiring and installation drawings for electrical equipment and work with other disciplines, in a team environment to create multi-discipline design packages. Your key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to: Coordinate and lead the modelling for E&I work Review and intrepret E&I schedules and allocate to design accordingly Update models to show E&I equipment in accordance with project standards whilst maintaining segregation requirements. Equipment typically includes cable ladder/racks, field panels, instrumentation, valves, lighting etc Liaise with respective designers to discuss requirements and report progress Prepare and modify (where required) E&I layout drawings / drop-outs based on 3D model Participate in model reviews Liaise with other disciplines to agree routes, provide support and/or resolve clashes Review Vendor / Supplier General Arrangement drawings to determine layout requirements Inter-discipline drawing checking Timely transfer of information to other disciplines Skills / Qualifications What will set you apart from other applicants will be previous experience as a modeller, having worked at an engineering company on large scale mining projects. Ideally, you will also be proficient with Bentley OpenPlant. You will also have: Minimum 6 years of modelling experience Well-developed computer skills with a good knowledge of relevant design software and a working knowledge of relational databases and excel spreadsheets Good understanding of project work flow General understanding of Electrical and Instrumentation technology Experience with process plant design and layout Understanding of other discipline requirements Excellent attention to detail and checking skills Ability to work unsupervised but within a team, and focus on task completion An open mind to new ideas / concepts Please note, only applicants holding valid working rights in Australia will be considered.
