Overview / Responsibilities Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Seqwater to deliver leading maintenance services in the water industry. These projects cover South East Queensland across multiple locations, assisting Seqwater to provide water for more than three million people in South East Queensland. We currently have a position available for a Planning Engineer - Water Treatment to coordinate, oversee, and undertake planning for improvements and augmentations of Water Treatment Plants and bulk supply assets. You will deliver high quality business cases for water treatment projects and are responsible for presenting and gaining approvals of the preferred option. You will also ensure thorough and effective management of transition of projects to the Project Delivery team. This is a Brisbane-based role and at this time we will only consider applications from Australian citizens, or those with the required permit/VISA for this region. Key responsibilities Coordinate, oversee and undertake planning for improvements Development of business cases, including understanding strategic intent, development of budgets and schedules Manage, coordinate and oversee timely delivery of Options Studies and other project planning activities Manage options analysis as well as preliminary and detailed design for specific asset improvements and augmentations Support project delivery activities as required, including assisting with the timely resolution of any scoping Undertake decision-making to ensure Whole of Lifecycle cost of assets and services is minimised Provide sound advice on treatment efficacy of performance against current and projected future water quality standards and demand profile requirements Observe and comply with all Seqwater work health and safety, quality and environmental management systems and procedures. Skills / Qualifications Skills Proven high level ability to deliver engineering services, and effectively manage planning projects Demonstrated experience in planning and assessment of projects and developing high quality planning reports or business cases Skills in consultation, negotiation and co-ordination, and the ability to work with people at all levels internally and externally Demonstrated and applied knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation Demonstrated experience in project budget development and management. Qualifications Degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (mandatory) Certification as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or Chartered Engineer (desirable) Qualifications in project management will be highly regarded.
