We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.OverviewWe are seeking a Loss Prevention Engineer to join the Saudi Aramco Loss Prevention organization (LP), which provides both day-to-day field coverage to Saudi Aramco operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function. Field offices are located in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib. Through these offices, LP provides its services to all Saudi Aramco facilities which are located all over the Kingdom. The primary function of a Loss Prevention Engineer is to provide daily support to line organizations and facilities, to help them manage safety properly and also assure compliance to all company safety requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be required to perform the following: Act as single point of contact for assigned proponent organizations. Provide ongoing support to proponent organizations to assist them in implementing the Saudi Aramco Safety Management System, and meeting safety objectives and expectations. This includes assisting proponent organizations in developing safety processes related to risk assessment and management, safety training, asset integrity, safe operations, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, incident investigations, etc. Conduct field inspections/reviews of onshore and/or offshore oil/gas facilities, project construction sites, drilling rigs, and support facilities, such as office buildings, warehouses, and communities. This includes working with proponent organizations to identify safety concerns, formulate solutions, and develop practical and cost-effective corrective actions. Participate in various safety studies/activities, such as: PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, or insurance surveys. Participate in or lead risk studies or conduct consequence analyses, e.g., toxic gas dispersion modeling. Develop and update safety standards, instructions, codes, and formalize them into company documented practices, as required. Review project designs for new and upgraded facilities for compliance with company and industry safety standards, as required. Respond to emergency situations and incidents, either during or after regular working hours, to provide technical assistance and advice. Participate in developing and promoting on- and off-job safety educational programs, to address safety issues or concerns. Assigned tasks may include: preparation of articles for publication, development of promotional materials, and delivery of presentations. Act as a mentor to other Loss Prevention engineers. Participate in contractor prequalification evaluation activities. Review proponent and contractor safety submittals for compliance to corporate requirements. Deliver Loss Prevention specific training to proponents and contractors, as directed. Provide safety support to Saudi Aramco affiliates, as directed.Minimum RequirementsAs the successful candidate, you must hold a Bachelor degree in one of the following: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. You will have 7 years of experience as a safety professional in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries, including a strong track record in delivering results. The experience should be comprehensive, covering both occupational and process safety.. You must have an excellent ability to communicate in English with peers as well as members of management, and be able to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English. Have knowledge of modern safety management systems, processes, and techniques applicable to the oil and gas industry; as well as international fire and safety codes, recommended practices, and specifications. Desired Competencies The following are some of the highly desired competencies for a successful candidate: Knowledge/experience of risk assessment and mitigation methodologies, such as the development and review of risk assessments, job safety analysis (JSA), and method statements. Understanding of the hazards related to oil and gas producing/processing and their relevant controls (e.g., the hazards associated with hydrogen sulfide and other hazardous materials, and plant isolation). Knowledge of critical, yet universal safety tasks and control methodologies related to general work (e.g., work at height, confined space entry, and working in or around excavations). Knowledge of work permit/authorization processes and their field application.
