Overview / Responsibilities
Wood PLC is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Machinery and Package engineering department in Milan Office.
Responsibilites:
 

Supporting engineering disciplines with preliminary information:

pre-selection of equipment and evaluation of their performances
preliminary size estimate of equipment


Preparation of equipment / package material requisitions, as well as mechanical data sheets for enquiry
Technical evaluations and conditioning of Supplier's quotations:

review and check vendor's proposal for compliance with all specifications and requirements
prepare list of questions / clarifications to vendors
lead technical clarification meeting(s) with potential vendor(s)
prepare bid tabulation and technical evaluation and issue recommendation to project management and procurement


Review and verification of equipment / package supplier's engineering for compliance to Project requirements and International Standards, integration within project design and control of interfaces
Technical support for installation and commissioning
Lead the project specific machinery / package team:

actively carry out specific technical tasks for the project
plan activities for her / himself and for the rest of the team
coordinate and support Wood machinery & package team
liaise with Wood project team and other disciplines
liaise with Client team



 
Skills / Qualifications

 
 

Master degree in Mechanical engineering
Experience in Machinery Engineering in Oil&Gas / Petrochemical / Energy projects (minimum 5 years)
Strong team work attitude
Ingenuity and curiosity to investigate alternative solutions beyond the expectations
Availability to short-medium term assignments abroad
Fluent English spoken / written
