Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently sourcing an Engineer to join our very dynamic and diverse Intelligent Operations team in Australia based in Perth. Our Intelligent Operations group sits under the Consulting arm of Wood and offers an array of technical expertise in Energy Transition and Flow Assurance; Digital Initiatives and Innovation; Asset Performance, Monitoring and Optimisation; Training and Testing; and Environment.
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles; and be conversant in process simulations, dynamic modelling and programming/coding skills. The candidate is expected to be a very good communicator and pro-active.
The candidate will provide specialist hands-on engineering input to the project activities starting from the screening studies up to the completion of the execution phase, under the supervision of a lead engineer or project manager. This role will report into the Engineering Manager.
We are open to applications from candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in flow assurance, process engineering and/or transient dynamic modelling, with any programming background.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Be able to independently undertake and deliver detailed technical work in support of the portfolio of projects and studies currently in hand;
Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with the company quality management system;
Ensure that project objectives assigned by the Project Lead / Manager and Client are achieved;
Provide guidance and mentoring for more junior staff;
Making effective presentations to clients that bottom line the results;
Act as a client representative at technical meetings with third parties;
Support other work as may be required. This may include but not be limited to studies, research, developmental work or work of a related nature
Skills / Qualifications
Recognised qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or extensive experience in a relative field and a demonstrated ability to be able to perform equivalently to, or better than, reasonably expected of a degree qualified engineer;
Advanced degree focussing in the areas of multiphase flow / fluid dynamics / heat transfer / applied mathematics is desirable but not required;
3+ years flow assurance experience in the Oil and Gas industry with an excellent technical background;
Proficiency in modelling tools and packages such as OLGA / Pipenet / TGNET / Pipesim / PVTSim / Multiflash / LedaFlow / HYSYS / UniSim, etc.;
Programming / coding (VBA, python, etc.) and data analytics skills would be an advantage;
Local market knowledge would be seen as an advantage.
