Overview / Responsibilities Wood Plc. has an opportunity for one position of Welding Engineer. There is an increased demand to deliver our services for the growing Asian market. As a result of this, the Quality Management Function is expanding and evolving to manage the challenges of regional projects that continue to pose challenges in offering our services through a global talent pool. Job Description: Commitment to and promotion of Wood's values and ensuring the realization of Company and project health, safety, environmental, quality and ethics, systems, policies, and procedures. Reporting to QAQC Manager: the main function of the role is to ensure that Welding Procedure Specification and Repair Procedure are implemented in the project as per BSP - 12 - S.601 & related Shell DEP and International Code and Standard. Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles. Prepares technical reports as result of research and development and preventive maintenance Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to client Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes. Directs and coordinates technical personnel in performing inspections. Contacts personnel of other agencies, engineering personnel, or clients to exchange ideas, information, or offer technical advice concerning welding matters. Perform experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials. Skills / Qualifications Personal Requirements: A demonstrable commitment to safety in the workplace; leading by example. Attention to detail, commitment to a "Right - First - Time" ethos. Good coordination, interpersonal skills Good written skills, ability to present data in a clear and concise manner. Self - motivating, well organized, resourceful, and proactive. Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can do attitude and a commitment to meeting and maintaining compliance.
