Responsibilities Design and implement new functionality for our suite of applications, including front-end GUIs; graphical plotting; 3D interaction; back-end data processing; analysis; and hardware control. Provide timely improvement, maintenance and support for our suite of applications, using the systems provided by the company for this purpose. Participate in the testing of our software applications, including writing unit tests and other automated testing code. Work as part of an international team within an Agile development environment Work with other software teams around the world, to provide integrated and consistent software products across the company. Investigate reports of problems with the software and implement fixes as required. Liaise with other departments to facilitate the correct interaction of the software with hardware and other software systems. You may be asked to help to provide our data recovery service, manipulating problem data sets so that they can be successfully delivered to our customers. This would require you to be on-call as part of a rota with other members of the team, providing out-of-hours support on a 24/7 52 week per year basis. Where possible we will provide the ability to perform this function from home. Abide by the company's health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment. Qualifications Essential Minimum 1-4 years related experience - Must have a good academics. Degree or Diploma in a numerate subject (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, etc.) Proficient C# skills Experience programming for the .Net platform with an understanding of .Net specific concepts Experience using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) for GUI development Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good verbal, writing and interpersonal communication skills Well organized with the ability to work well in a team Desirable Proficiency in C++ Experience of using a unit testing framework, e.g. NUNIT) GUI design skills Familiarity with software design patterns (MVVM, Dependency Injection, Inversion of Control, etc.) Proficiency with Visual Studio 2017 and above in an Azure DevOps environment Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology Good mathematical skills
