The Water Engineering Program is an exciting entry point for recent engineering graduates with interest in the Water business, reporting into the North American Field Operations team. This program develops technical problem-solving and leadership skills through hands-on field work starting up and troubleshooting systems on customer sites and in office technical rotations. It is designed to provide in-depth exposure to Suez's major product lines, integration with project execution teams, as well as integrated formal training. This role prepares new graduates for a wide variety of roles within the Suez Water business.The program consists of 3 years working as a Commissioning Field Service Representative. Diverse experiences include commissioning a variety of different plants, including large or complex projects that could be located anywhere in the world, though primarily in North America.Over the course of the program, participants will have an opportunity to work in other engineering-based areas of the business on a rotational basis, such as: Commercial, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation and Process Control. This will give participants the opportunity to perceive how their experience in the field can be applied to other roles within the business, and vice versa. These in office technical rotations will consist of one to three 6 week rotations per year. Responsibilities:• Safely and successfully commission custom projects and extended scope projects from construction to commissioning, including UF/MBR, RO/ED, Thermal, Clarification and other technologies as required, primarily in North America. This position requires extensive travel (~200 days/yr) in a wide range of industries and locations, both rural and urban.• Upon arrival to site, verify that installation by the customer of Suez equipment has been done according to our P&ID, Mechanical, and Electrical Drawings. Communicate any discrepancies to the customer and to Suez. Also, ensure that all parts have been received onsite.• Setup PLC, HMI and/or SCADA equipment. Establish communication with the PLC and other controllers. Work with the customer to complete electrical (I/O) checks.• Commission equipment: this includes valves, air compressors, vacuum pumps, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation.• Work with client to ensure all lines are flushed of debris.• Assist client in installing membranes, filters and media. Flush preservative from the membranes.• Complete any adjustments to the membranes, filters and media to ensure they are ready to filter water.• Complete detailed automation testing to ensure the system is functioning as per design.• Assist client in process startup, including sanitization, seeding, etc.• Assist client with initial operation of the plant.• Train client operators on plant operation. Transfer ownership of system to the client.• Meet with the client/Suez team to communicate schedule, and to address issues whenever necessary.• Some office based responsibilities could be the following: Supporting new and existing system designs, developing commercial proposals for bids, developing and checking control systems for new projects, participating in design reviews for upcoming projects.Qualifications / Requirements• BS Degree in Engineering.• Ability to travel throughout North America, and other international locations when required 200 days/year. Trips generally range from 5 days to 4 weeks in duration, sometimes longer depending on business needs.
