Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Verification Engineer a contract basis located in our Staines office for a period of 10 months. This role will then be based in other international locations as the project progresses. Join culture of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to see the best solutions for our clients. The Role: Provides a focal point for the Independent Verification Scheme. This includes management of all activities for the Project Safety & Environmental Critical Elements (SECEs) and the SECE Performance Standards. Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through: Accountability for the timely acknowledgement of no exceptions to the Project by the Independent Verification Body (IVB) (verification achieved). Coordination of submission, verification activities and exception close out, to ensure required permits to execute the works are provided on time. Governance of the relationship between the IVB and selected Contractors supplying data to the IVB for verification. Reporting the status of the Verification process and identifying exceptions to standard process which require intervention. Anticipating verification submission needs and prioritizing and coordinating work, through the delivery lines to ensure on time delivery of data to IVB. Optimising efficiency and minimisation of non-conformance reports Lead Verification Engineer is Responsible for: Implementation, management, and co-ordination of the Independent Verification Scheme Subject Matter Expertise: Proactively liaises with the IVB to understand and anticipate IVB needs Coordination with delivery teams to ensure IVB submission content and timing is clearly understood Ensure on time delivery of IVB submissions Ensure EPC contractor scope and deliverables are correctly specified and contracted Tracking and receipt of returned documents and disposition of those documents. Understand any exceptions made by the IVB and ensure those exceptions are closed out. Governance of the contractor close out actions (OMVP concurrency in method/solution used). Actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development. Management, reporting and analysis of IVB performance data Self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework and legislation changes in relation to IVB works Expert awareness of international codes and standards General: Management of third-party IVB supplier in the execution of verification delivery Understand EPC contractor contracts in relation to IVB support Skills / Qualifications BSc, BEng or equivalent, Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent experience. Alternatively, a Degree/Diploma in quality management may also be considered. O&G experience in a similar position Self-motivated and able to clearly communicate with Client and contractors at all levels.
