Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for Construction Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering qualification with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry to provide support to our Client in the execution of projects. Main Purpose of the Role: Act as an Ambassador of the company in all aspects of HSEQS & IR. Review with the HSES Officer and construction supervision all permit to work requirements, and ensure availability of authorised personnel. Assist in the inspections of contractors' tools, plant and equipment to ensure continuation of site safety certification Participate with construction supervision, contractors and Client in team building events and assist in the training of personnel as required. Comply with Company and Client secrecy agreements, and compliance, pertinent to the Construction Site and associated activities. Liaise with designers and engineers throughout the engineering phase to maximise the use of construction knowledge and experience in all aspects of the project, paying particular attention to constructability. Develop temporary facilities layouts, laydown facilities, and traffic and heavy load movement studies as required Review plans, drawings, specifications, requisitions and bid summaries for all temporary facilities. Review the project estimate to ensure the completeness of scope and correctness of construction input. Review, approve and issue all Construction procedure for incorporation into the site activities. Be the focal point for all communications to and from the site. Ensure that all correspondence to and from site is recorded and distributed to other involved departments. Participate in the interviewing and appointment of HO Construction staff. Ensure that project procedures issued by the Construction Department and other related departments e.g. HSEQ are in line with the Company's Corporate policies and procedures. Be fully familiarised with policies and procedures, and ensure that those requirements are implemented on behalf of and under the direction of the Manager, Construction. Compiling and updating of project (construction) organisation charts. Compiling and updating of project Man-power projection plans. Compiling and updating of Temporary Facilities budgets for proposals. Quotation requests etc. Identification of potential suppliers for the supply of specialist products and services. Correspondence with suppliers / contractors regarding quotations. Compiling of Purchase Requisitions. Compiling and updating of Works Information documents for Contracts. Agree method statements, risk assessments and job safety analysis for Heavy Lift and Transportation activities. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the agreed method statements In conjunction with Construction Manager develop realistic schedules for Heavy Lift and Transportation activities. Provide the construction input required in preparing the project schedules. In conjunction with Construction Manager conduct feasibility studies, provide constructability and other construction engineering services, working to correct standards and procedures. Keep abreast of current construction technologies and industry practices and recommend incorporation into project execution strategies where appropriate. Identify construction deliverables to suit the project requirements and control and schedule them using the Document Management System (WebDMS). Provide Construction input into Contract Requisitions and participate in Technical Evaluation of Contractors tender responses Provide technical support to projects for the development of strategies for modularisation and the assessment of module yard and vendor capabilities. Provide technical support to projects for the development of strategies for shutdown and turnaround operations. Implement and maintain an appropriate, structured, system for the filing and retrieval of records..
