Overview / Responsibilities Wood Milan estimating office, to deal with forthcoming major projects, is currently recruiting for a Piping Estimator preferably with experience in the Oil and Gas petrochemical industry. The candidate will be mainly responsible to develop piping cost estimates. Starting from the technical documentation produced by the engineering team, the candidate has to manage, analyze and develop materials and installation quantities. After this phase, the candidate has to prepare economic evaluation, on the basis of specific market investigation or using in-house cost data. The candidate, depending on the department workload, may be also involved in activities related to equipment estimates. The candidate will operate inside to the estimating department and will be coordinated by the estimating project leader. In details the main responsibilities will be: Understand the WOOD and Project specific estimating procedures; Flexibility on different tasks Build good working relationships and communicate effectively with all other WOOD functions, particularly where input to estimating is essential Develop documents in Excel format Define piping materials costs utilizing either in-house data or Vendor quotations if required for the Estimate (the candidate shall be able to interface with Vendors to obtain budget quotations for selected items) Define equipment cost (if so required) by using available software Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), in-house data or Vendor quotations Plan the activities to timely deliver the estimate, in accordance with the project Skills / Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or High School (Diploma) in technical disciplines (e.g. Perito Meccanico) Two to five years working experience "Problem solving" attitude Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations Knowledge of English language (written / spoken) Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
